Can I call it a haul if it’s only 3 things? What if I got a bunch of samples with it? A mini-haul? Whatever. I got me some cleansing oils.
I’ve been interested in trying cleansing oils for quite some time now. I had to look past the whole ‘putting oil on my skin, which is already oily enough’ thing. I won’t get too in depth with it today and spit a novel at you, but basically oil dissolves oil, and it cleanses your skin without removing your natural oils, thus not drying it out and overproducing sebum to compensate for what’s lost. After reading up on a bunch of different brands and getting some recommendations from Twitterfolk, I made my decisions.
DHC is a Japanese brand that, wonderfully enough, has an American branch. They have a bunch of really nice looking skin care products, but it was the cleansing oil I was after.
DHC Pore Cleansing Oil: The newest line from DHC. They also have (as seen above in the many samples they sent me) Pore Milk and Pore Essence, among others. And yes, I’m a pore freak, which is why I chose this product. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m buy cialis online very excited about it.
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil: DHC’s bestseller. I’m more into pore-specific things, so I bought the full-size above product, but I got a trial-size bottle of this, because it’s supposed to be amazing. I haven’t used this one yet either, but I dreamt about it last night. In my dream it was made of egg yolks and it was pretty sweet. In real life it’s not. Just a heads up.
Origins Clean Energy Gentle Cleansing Oil: I ordered this one from a seller on eBay for pretty cheap, due to a cosmetic flaw or something. I can’t see it, so whatever. When I received this in the mail though, it was leaking eeeeverywhere. And even though it smells phenomenal, I’m pretty sure my postman and post office hate me now. Well, such is life. My apologies. At least I didn’t seem to lose much product. Anyway. I tried this one last night and it was nice. My very first oil cleansing attempt ever. Like I said, this shit smells good. I’ll save the review on it for another day, though. I think my skin is going through the purging stage of starting a new skincare regime, because I broke out a little. Not gonna give up though. Not now. Not ever. Well, maybe if it destroys my skin. We shall see.
If it turns out that cleansing oils work for me, I eventually want to delve into the world of Shu Uemura. I’ve heard so many good things, but they’re a bit pricey for me at the moment, so one step at a time.
Also, as you can see, I got a bunch of cute little samples from DHC. I haven’t had the time to really check them out and read up on them, but they will be reviews for another day.
Anyone have any experience with DHC and Origins? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Also, if anyone is interested in receiving a DHC catalog with 4 free samples of their bestselling products and 10% off their first order, let me know! I can sign two people up. Shoot me your name and address on the contact link under my picture on the sidebar, and I’ll choose two people at random, and edit this post by next Tuesday with the oh-so-lucky winners. US only, sorry.
