Back when I first started getting into Korean cosmetics, the Peach Sake Pore Serum by Skinfood was one of the top products on my want list. I’ll admit it: I am obsessed with anything that has to do with refining pores. And I like peach stuff. A lot. However, I didn’t want to dish out the cash for a full-size product… but I couldn’t find samples of this anywhere!
I finally caved and ended up buying a full-sized Peach Sake Pore BB Cream, since one can never have too many BB creams. I was okay with spending money on that, and besides, I got it on sale. But the serum still lingered in the back of my mind, taunting me. I wanted it. I needed it. And then I found a few sample sachets on eBay and all of my desires were fulfilled.
The facts:
Peach extract (Vitamins A + C)
Rice sake
Silica Powder
Reduces shine
Controls excess sebum
Minimizes the appearance of pores
Lightweight
Absorbs quickly
For oily skin
This product has a nice, light peachy scent that doesn’t last too long. It’s lightweight and easily spreadable on your skin, absorbing super quickly with a matte finish. It does have a very slight shimmer, but most of the time you’ll never even notice it.
I usually use this product as a primer, before putting on moisturizer or BB cream and powder. I’ve put it on at night too, after my nighttime skin regimen, but I never find much effect
with that. To be honest, I don’t really see that much effect using it as a primer, either. My T-zone just can’t be tamed, I reckon. It does make my skin feel velvety smooth though, and I like that. I think that perhaps using this serum with the full Peach Sake Pore line (toner + emulsion + BB cream, et cetera) you might have a better result. The serum is a super popular product, so I imagine a lot of people have success with it.
Pros: Fast absorbing, pleasant scent, matte finish.
Cons: Doesn’t do much regarding oil control or pore minimization for me. Kind of pricey.
Final Verdict: It’s a nice product, and obviously works for a lot of people. Just not me. I still like it though, and will use it occasionally… at least until my samples are done. No full-size product for me. If you’re interested in the Peach Sake Pore BB Cream, I’ll be reviewing that in the coming weeks. You can find the Peach Sake Pore Serum for ~$20/45ml USD on Amazon, and probably cheaper on eBay.

A friend of mine tried this and the toner and moisturizer I think and said it did nothing for her skin either! Too bad…keep trying Skinfood! They do have some really great products :)

Yeah, I was kind of disappointed… I love every other Skinfood product I’ve tried. Except the Platinum Grape Cell Essential BB Cream… but that’s a review for another time. :)

Aww that’s a shame, I wish there was a really good product for minimizing pores!
