Review: Sua Young Young Secret BB Complete

Time for a new BB cream testing! I feel like it’s been awhile since I’ve reviewed one. The lovely ladies at Peach and Lily sent me some awesome new Korean products to review, including this mineral-based BB cream by Sua Young.

Before I get into the review, here’s some background on Peach and Lily if you aren’t familiar!

Peach and Lily is an e-commerce site focused on introducing hard-to-access Korean and Japanese beauty products to the US. They currently ship to the 48 contiguous states, but if you’re in Alaska, Hawaii, or abroad, there are plans in the works for shipping your way in the future! Also, they have free shipping for orders over $50. For those of you who tend to go a little overboard with beauty purchases (definitely not me), this is right up your alley.

The current brands Peach and Lily are offering include Aromatica, Be The Skin, Caolion, Clio, May Coop, Mizon, Morihata, Sua Young, Tatcha, and Uka.

Water, titanium dioxide, cyclomethicone, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, propylene glycol, cetyl PEG, PPE-10, 1dimethicone mica, arbutin, hexyl laurate, dimethicone, PEG-10 dimethicone, phenyl trimethicone, portulaca oleracea extract, iron oxide (CI 77492), cetyl ethylhexanoate, magnesium sulfate, sorbitan sesquioleate, aluminum hydroxide, sodium chloride, alcohol, cyclopentasiloxane, PEG, PPG-19, 19 dimethicone, butylene glycol, bismuth oxychloride, polymethylsilsesquioxane, petrolatum, polysilicone-11, methicone, quaternium-18 bentonite, ailanthus altissima bark extract, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, stearic acid, allantoin, tocopheryl acetate, adenosine, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, ultramarin, sodium hyaluronate, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, niacinamide, zea mays (corn) kernel extract, silica, phenoxyethanol, propylparaben, methylparaben

This is a light beige shade, and I really thought it would be a bit too yellow-toned for my skin, but it oxidated well and ended up pretty matchy. Is that a word? I don’t care. Usually with BB creams you don’t need to use much, but with this one it took more than usual to cover my face–it’s not the easiest to blend, perhaps due to the mineral formula.

Don’t judge my awful skin right now–I thought it was a great idea to extract right before this. Whatever. Broken capillaries and pores aside, this BB cream has pretty decent coverage! I’d say it’s about medium, and definitely buildable. As you can see, it definitely has a dewy finish, and no matter how much I try, I cannot pull that off. It just looks greasy on me, which accentuates the texture of my skin rather than smooth it. Even after a nice dusting of powder, the shine comes through after like ten minutes. This won’t be the case for everyone, though. All skin is different. This BB cream doesn’t have enough oil control for my crazy T-zone, but I would definitely check it out if you have normal to dry skin, or prefer a dewy finish.

I also have to say that it smells fantastic. The majority of BB creams just smell like sunscreen to me, so I get super excited when I come across a nice scent. It’s supposed to be scented with rose petals, but I think it smells a lot like lychee. I love it.

Pros: Great for sensitive skin, good coverage, wonderful scent
Cons: Lacking in oil control

Final Verdict: This BB cream isn’t the best for my skin, but that doesn’t mean it won’t work for you! I have super picky skin when it comes to BB creams apparently. If you’re looking for an all-natural, mineral-based BB cream with a dewy finish, don’t count this out! You can find it at Peach and Lily for $35 USD.

I’ll be on a tiny blog hiatus during the holidays, but make sure to check back in the following weeks for reviews of the rest of the products Peach and Lily sent me: Be The Skin Botanical Pore Serum, Caolion Pore Minimizing Pack, and Mizon AHA & BHA Daily Clean Toner. What would you like to see first?

My GLAMAWAY is now over! Thanks to everyone who entered, and best of luck! I’m currently en route to my hometown in Minnesota for the holidays, so I won’t be picking the winner until I return (~January).
