I’ve been experimenting with a lot of new eye stuff lately. Eyeliners, eyeshadows, mascaras, tools. My current favorite find is none other than the Gel Eyeliner Pencils from Ulta. On a recent beauty shopping spree I impulsively picked up four different shades: Golden Egg, Halo, Moss, and Plum.
I was too excited to take photos of these before using them. I don’t even care. Check out my used eyeliners.

Super creamy gel eye liner formula provides effortless smooth application and lasting pigmented coverage.
Cyclopentasiloxane, Paraffin, C11-12 Isoparaffin, Polybutene, Hydrogenated Cottonseed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Ceresin, Ozokerite, Microcystalline Wax, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate. May Contain: Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide, Ultramarines, Mica, Aluminum Powder, Bismuth Oxychloride, Black 2, Blue 1 Lake, Bronze Powder, Chromium Hydroxide Green, Chromium Oxide Greens, Copper Powder, Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide, Ferric Ferrocyanide, Manganese Violet, Yellow 5 Lake, Zinc Oxide, Carmine.
As you can see, they have excellent pigmentation, and although they aren’t waterproof, they set well and are long-lasting. Despite the rest of my face, my eyelids aren’t oily, so my eye makeup usually doesn’t budge that much. This stuff stays put on me all day, and is easily removed with makeup remover.
Application is incredibly smooth–this product glides right on with no tugging. My least favorite part is that they aren’t automatic… so I hope you’ve invested in a sharpener. I don’t HATE sharpening pencils, but I suck at it and always feel like I’m wasting product. Plus, I like these best with a blunt end.
Golden Egg. My favorite! I’m totally not a huge gold person, but I’m slowly warming up to it. I really like how it accents blue eyes. Do not judge my half-assed lashes. Don’t.
Plum and Halo. When I bought the plum it looked a bit more reddish… I was looking for a cranberry color. You can’t really go wrong with a purple, though. And I was originally looking for a white eyeliner that was more opaque, but I fell in love with this one anyway.
Moss. It was between this and an emerald color, and even though I love emerald to death, a warmer green suits my eyes better. I also usually pair these with a neutral shadow, but skipped that for display purposes. These look okay alone, but my hooded lids need a little something more.
Pros: Smooth application, super pigmented, great color selection, long-lasting.
Cons: Not waterproof, have to be sharpened.
Final Verdict: Would I buy more of these? I’m heading back to Ulta to stock up as soon as my poor pocketbook allows it. Check them out for yourself at Ulta for $8 USD a piece (or cheaper, depending on what sales are going on).
On a side note, I am addicted to Pinterest and bought a sewing machine to make stuff. I have never sewed before so it’s been interesting. Here’s my first attempt at a zippered pouch!
I messed it up but it’s still usable and looks okay. I’m so proud. :’)
